Is a Hawaiian Burger Your Thing? Here’s Where To Get Them

We like burgers. You like burgers. We’d venture a bet that nearly everyone enjoys burgers of some kind, be they plain, fancy, or vegetarian.

Many people living in Beijing have strong opinions about burgers, and although the capital city has a plethora of restaurants that specialize in savory and satisfying burgers, it seems like not everyone is a big fan of the Hawaiian burger, which has a spot in the culinary world that’s reminiscent to that of Hawaiian pizza.

Some people simply believe that pineapple and meat should never go together, but I for one am a big fan of the pineapple burger and if you’re like me, then you should definitely check out this list of places that offer some of the best Hawaiian burgers in Beijing.

If you still haven’t been to Hawaii yet, this savory sweet taste of Soldout’s Hawaiian Burger (RMB 36 for burger; RMB 48 for combo with fries and a drink) will transport you to the islands. Their burger features a juicy beef patty topped with caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, teriyaki sauce, and a slice of grilled pineapple.

The beef patty is seasoned just right without overpowering your palette. After just one bite of this Hawaiian burger, the flavors of charred beef and the teriyaki sauce atop a grilled pineapple and the onions and pickles will make you dream of Hawaii.

Although TAB’s Hawaiian burger — dubbed the SpongeBob’s Pineaple House (RMB 49) — doesn’t necessarily stick to the traditional formula that comes with teriyaki sauce and caramelized onions, the burger here is absolutely tasty in its own way. The burger comes with tomatoes, lettuce, beef patty and homemade sauce that tastes a little bit sweet and savory that will keep you munching.

Rich Burger offers decent American-style burgers made with fresh beef patties imported from Australia. In their Pineapple Teriyaki Cheeseburger (RMB 58) beef gets topped with homemade teriyaki sauce, tomatoes, lettuces, and cheddar. Tucked into a soft and crunchy bun, the burger is surely a catch.

This burger (RMB 37) is as messy as it can be — and swaps out the beef patty for fried chicken to boot. The burger is arguably one of the most creative burgers you can find in Beijing. The sourness of the pineapple goes well with the crunchiness of the chicken, and even if mayonnaise is not something everyone can agree on, the flavor works well with this one.

I am hard pressed to find a burger better than the ones at Fatburger. Their Hawaiian Burger (RMB 60 with fries and a drink) features freshly-made beef patties topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled pineapples. The hot juicy burger features a pineapple and patty topped with BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, a soft bun and melted cheddar.
